THE EVANS LAB

Investigating mitochondrial quality control mechanisms in neurons

Welcome to the Evans Lab at Duke University

Find out more about what’s happening in the lab!

Mitochondria play an important role in neuronal homeostasis, and dysregulation is thought to contribute to neurodegenerative disease. Our lab is interested in understanding how mitochondrial quality control pathways are altered in Parkinson’s disease and ALS.

Our lab investigates mitochondrial dynamics in neurons. Our goal is to mechanistically define the diverse mitochondrial quality control pathways to understand how they collaborate to regulate the mitochondrial network.
